With two incredible options to choose from - motor glider flights or winch launches - you're guaranteed to soar high above the clouds. And the best part? A skilled instructor is there to guide you every step of the way. Established in 1953, Husband's Bosworth Glider Club has been operating out of Husband's Bosworth near Lutterworth since 1963. With its welcoming atmosphere, over 200 members, and dedicated full-time staff, it's no wonder the club runs like a well-oiled machine. But the fun doesn't stop there. Husband's Bosworth airfield has plenty of social activities, and visitors are always welcome. And you won't want to miss the Hungry Pilot cafe in the clubhouse - it's the perfect spot to grab a quick bite or sip on some tea. Over the years, the club has grown and now houses approximately 100 privately owned gliders in various hangars on the airfield. The dedicated training fleet comprises several dual-controlled gliders at Husbands Bosworth; you'll be taking a lesson in one of them. Your instructor will give you a taste of what it feels like to glide through the air. With the option to take control of the aircraft or sit back and let your instructor take over while you enjoy the ride, the choice is yours. You can even see some sights on your route, including Market Harborough, Foxton Locks, Wistow Maze, Stanford Hall, and Kelmarsh. For an adrenaline rush, opt for winch launches. You'll be attached to a cable and winched up into the air to a height of around 1000ft before being released. The rush of getting into the air in a glider using a winch tow is unparalleled! With flying available year-round and excellent on-site facilities, Husband's Bosworth is a popular destination for gliding enthusiasts. The club regularly hosts gliding competitions, and with over 30 British Glider Association-qualified instructor pilots, you'll be in good hands.

Winch Launch- One winch launch flight typically lasts between 5-10 minutes

- You can take along a camera or small video camera, but it must use a neck-strap to firmly attach it
- Onsite restaurant providing a range of snacks and home cooked food and bar
- Please note that all flights are at the discretion of the instructor of the day, this also includes letting a student have control of the glider, this is only done if the instructor is happy to hand the controls over

- Flights generally operate between 10am and 5:30pm, and continue until dusk on Wednesdays and Thursdays
- All bookings are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their allocated time to do paperwork before they can fly

Super experience, had a great time and did everything I wanted to do.Booking frictionless and all staff friendly and helpful.Just a shame the experience itself was a little shorter than I expected it was going to be, perhaps down to weather conditions.

A great and novel experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. In the capable hands of pilot Dave Lambert, I felt safe and confident. Dave gave me a thorough briefing and explained all aspects of our glide and I took the controls on several occasions. I went up fully expecting that weather conditions would only allow us 15 mins in the air but thanks to Daves skill we were up for 35 mins. Fantastic

We arrived on a nice warm sunny day looking forward with a little trepidation to our flights.After a slight delay and hearing that unfortunately the weather was closing in I did manage to get a short flight but my pal was told it was no longer safe to fly. The following day I spoke with Sally at the club whom seemed to be as disappointed as we had been but promised us both a flight we could arrange in the spring of next year. So staff excellent and thoughtful facilities excellent weather unfortunately unpredictable. Looking forward to having another shot.
