About the Wand Making Workshop (Ages 7+)
Join us for a magical experience at our wand-making workshop, perfect for aspiring wizards! At Oldfield Forge in Hereford, you can design and create your very own metal wand. These workshops are suitable for all ages, starting from seven years old. Whether you’re a fan of Dumbledore, Harry Potter, or Merlin, you're sure to enjoy crafting your own piece of magic. You’ll learn classic blacksmithing techniques to forge your unique wand. The team at Oldfield, led by founder Aaron, is friendly and enthusiastic. Your wand-making session will be hosted by team members who will keep you captivated as you explore the art of forging metal using heat and hammers. During this three-hour experience, you will transform raw iron into your magical wand. Using the heat of the forge and traditional blacksmithing tools, you’ll hammer and shape a metal rod into a stylish, handcrafted wand. People of all ages, including adults, truly enjoy these workshops. They are creative, noisy, and messy, offering the chance to try something completely new, and for many, it will be their first experience with blacksmithing. Please note, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the wand-making workshops.
