This immersive three-day course at Oldfield Forge lets you get hands-on with traditional blacksmithing techniques to create three essential bushcraft tools: an axe, a knife, and a flint striker. Over the course of the workshop, you'll be working up a sweat at the anvil, shaping raw metal into tools that are not just practical but built to last. The axe will serve you well for chopping wood - perfect for fire-making and building a shelter. The knife is a versatile companion, ideal for whittling, preparing food, and all manner of outdoor tasks. And then there's the flint striker - small but mighty, this forged piece of steel will help you spark a fire when paired with a good shard of flint. Set in the beautiful countryside near the Welsh border, Oldfield Forge provides the perfect setting to get stuck into this ancient craft. Experience Information
- Teens aged 12-17 can take part if accompanied by a participating adult
- Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the year
- Courses run on consecutive days
- Sessions start at 09:00 finishing around 17:00 with a break for lunch (lunch not included)
- Participants should bring lunch or a picnic lunch is available to purchase when booking your date
Minimum Age: 18 years
