Skid Pan Experience at Castle Combe - Wiltshire

About the experience
Product ID: 14611
If you're looking for some thrilling driving experience, the Castle Combe Skid Pan Course in Cotswolds is definitely worth checking out! Upon arrival at this skid control venue near Chippenham in Wiltshire, you'll meet the experienced team, most of whom have a background in fast response driving or ADI instruction. Before heading out to the pan, you'll receive a short safety briefing to ensure that you're ready to enjoy your driving experience safely. The Castle Combe Skid Pan uses standard vehicles with normal road tyres. A non-toxic solution is mixed with water to transform the tarmac into a skid-able surface for a lot of driving fun. During the first session, you'll get the chance to "have a go" and discover just how easy it is to lose control of the car! After the first session, you'll receive an informative 20-minute classroom session covering all aspects of skid control. This includes front-wheel skids, rear-wheel skids, four-wheel skids, weight transfer, spin, and understeer, so you'll be armed with all the knowledge you need to successfully control the car. Then, it's back out to the pan for a second go at slides and skids at this thrilling Castle Combe set-up - and this time, you'll be able to put your newly acquired skills to the test. As well as the two sessions out of the Castle Combe skid pan, this half-day experience also includes tutoring on Anti-lock Braking Systems and cadence braking, which are both essential factors to bear in mind when driving on hazardous roads.

A really good informative practical afternoon with excellent instruction.Learnt skid control on both RWD FWD vehicles and the control technique to use on each. The effect of the ABS braking system on a vehicle was demonstrated and then each participant was able to have a go. Experiencing what happens under controlled conditions helps prepare you for a real life situation.Thoroughly recommended.

A fantastic experience which should be included in every standard driving tuition. My wife, a driver of 35 years and my daughter a driver of nearly 2 years both felt the benefit of this experience. It was both educational and fun. The instructors were excellent and both my wife and daughter now feel more confident in theyre driving skills.I would thoroughly recommend this to any driver no matter how many years they have been driving and DriveTech is the perfect place to learn.

The training was superb. Not only the driving aspects but also theverbal training and demonstrations by the two very professional staff. There were no aspects of gung hoism, which could have been the case, and the reaction to the training and staffs approach was very positive. From discussions with the rest of the people on the course I know thatthis was a general opinion. Due to the professionalism of the staff alltrainees took a very disciplined approach and, as a result, much waslearned. As a driver of almost 60 years experience I still felt I had much tolearn in skid control and this course filled the bill completely. Welldone to everyone involved and I would not hesitate to recommend thecourse to anyone. In terms of marks I have no hesiation in giving thecourse 1010.Donald H Long
