Remember that land yachts don't have brakes, but you will be taught all the necessities on the day. In this thrilling activity, also known as sand-yachting or land-sailing, you will use a sail to control where you go and your speed. My husband loved his day land yachting. We arrived early in the morning to a sunny, blustery beach off the Kent coast. What followed was an exhausting and exhilarating day, covering miles of coastline as my husband glided to and fro with a backdrop of kite surfers. It made for some amazing photos and an experience my husband will never forget. Thanks for the idea.

A Land Yachting Experience:
- A shared yacht experience
- The course lasts two hours
- Welcome and safety briefing
- You will form part of a group with a maximum instruction ratio of 6:1
- Safety helmets and gloves are provided
- In this shared experience, two people will be using one yacht

- Free parking is available at Lydd Airport next to the land yachting location.
- There are onsite toilets, and food and drink can be purchased
- Spectators are very welcome to come and watch. The surrounding area offers a variety of seaside attractions.

- Minimum age is 16
- Maximum weight is 16 stone (102Kg)
- You will need to be reasonably agile to get into the craft
- No previous experience is required
- Warm, waterproof clothing is advised in poor weather
- Upon booking your course, the supplier may send you some pre-course information to help you make the most of your time in the Land Yachts
- Pupils will be required to sign a disclaimer before they start
- Minimum age is 16

- The activity is dependent on appropriate weather conditions
- Weekend and Bank Holiday upgrades are available at a charge of £10.00 per person, payable upon booking

This was great fun. Its on grass not sand as the website pictures might suggest. You have to consider if theres no wind then you will have to postpone but thats inevitable with sailing of any sort.

Easy instructions on how to use the land yacht. Plenty of time to get used to it, got lucky with the weather and was told where to go afterwards for a nice bite to eat.
