Gliding provides a magnificent aerial view of the breathtaking South Devonshire countryside and is a unique way to explore Dartmoor. Two twin-seat training sailplanes - the correct term for gliders - are available at this small, welcoming club close to Tavistock, ready to launch you into the air over Dartmoor using the winch system.

Great experience, very welcoming reception from all the team and thorough briefing and calm and controlled flight unfortunately on the day the flight was relatively short due to wind conditions but extremely enjoyable and would recommend it.

One Winch Launches:
- Between 6 to 20 minutes of gliding time per winch launch depending on the weather conditions
- At the end of your experience you will be presented with a certificate

- Dates and session times are subject to availability and weather conditions
- Day courses run from 9:00am to 17:00pm with a break for lunch

- Participants are required to declare they have no medical conditions that would stop them from flying
- Warm clothing and sturdy footwear in recommended

I thoroughly enjoyed my glider experience at the Dartmoor Gliding Club. All the staff and members were extremely knowledgeable and made you feel very welcome. The experience itself was exhilarating and exactly what Id hoped for. Well done to all at Dartmoor Gliding Club. Id happily go back. Their organisation in advance of the day was also first class.

Thoroughly enjoyed my glider flight, although i was disapointed that i didnt get a tempory mmbership to the club to enable me to have further flights as i was lead to believe. Would like to have done more flightsas the weather wasnt that good on the day as my 2 winches only lasted a total of 9 minutes.
