About the 60 Minute Flying Lesson - Nationwide Venues
Wherever you're based in the UK, if you've dreamt for a long time about learning to fly, this special Flying Lesson gift voucher will be the perfect way to start making that dream a reality. You can book a 60 Minute Flying Lesson in a fixed-wing, two seater light aircraft, with our widest choice of UK venues including airfields and aerodromes, so if you're looking for flying lessons near you, there's a chance there's a venue closer to you than you realise. Your pilot instructor will greet you upon arrival at your chosen venue, and will take you through a full safety briefing on the ground. Then the exciting part comes, as you climb into the cockpit and await take off, with the aircraft engine roaring into life, and the checklists on taxiing, and feel the adrenaline build as you prepare to soar off the runway with your pilot once you've had the all-clear from Air Traffic Control. And as you take in the views around you and far below you, and you start to take the controls, you'll understand just how much fun it is and how easy it is to fly such a nimble little aircraft to altitude level, learning how to make turns in the air, and keep your nose up as you maintain target altitude. Your flight runs 'chock to chock', meaning that the session starts when the plane taxis away to when you switch the engine off once you land back on the ground. Best of all, your learning from this lesson will be filed in your logbook, and will count towards your learning required to obtain your Private Pilot's Licence (PPL). Your training journey towards becoming a fully qualified pilot starts here!

Experience Information
- Minimum age for a flying lesson is 14 years old
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Maximum weight of 14 stone
- Height restrictions: minimum 4ft 6ins, maximum 6ft 4ins
- Please bring two forms of identity including a photo ID, e.g. a passport
- Flight lessons are all at Civil Aviation Authority approved clubs
- Friends and family are welcome to come and watch you learning to fly
- Flight centres offer different levels of facilities, however most have a clubhouse providing toilets, viewing areas and refreshments

This Flight was a great experience with an excellent Pilot called Nick who owns the flying school in Welshpool. He went over the safety checks and explained the controls to me then we were up and away heading towards Lake Vyrnwy . When we reached a height of approximately 1800 feet I was allowed to control the aircraft with Nick guiding me. I was not over confident and as we came into a couple of clouds and showers I was happy for Nick to take over again. It was great to see the lake and he then changed course to Llangollen which was wonderful to see from the air basked in sunshine with an amazing aquaduct and a viaduct.From there we headed towards Wrexham as I continued taking pictures and videos and Nick pointed out various landmarks and geographical features as and when they came into view. Then we skirted along the edge of the Shropshire Plains and plotted a course back to Welshpool at which point I felt confident to take the controls again and get a feel for the microlight. Nick took over to plan the descent as we approached Welshpool Airfield and we flew over Powys Castle before we circled around the Airfield and descended gently for the Runway Approach with Nick explaining to me through the headset exactly what was happening as he brought the plane down expertly. Thank you Nick for sharing your knowledge in a calm and enjoyable way.

My experience involved a flying a 2 passenger light aircraft. The flight instructor I was assigned was a guy called Matt, who had plenty of flying experience of commercial aircraft, but flies small aircraft and teaches as a hobby. After some initial prep and checks, we quickly took off and flew up to 2000ft, where I was handed the controls. I was surprised at how responsive the controls were When not in control, I enjoyed the sights and asked Matt many questions about flying in general and his questions from his vast experience flying commercial aircrafts. Overall a worthwhile experience. I would recommend it to anyone

This was an amazing experience. Booking my flight lesson locally was really easy and professionally done. On the day and at the pre arranged appointment I met my instructor. He was knowledgeable and friendly, putting me at ease straight away. I had an excellent introduction to the aircraft, and when ready the instructor allowed me to partly taxi the aircraft to the runway. Shortly after takeoff the instructor allowed me control of the aircraft. He explained everything inflight and even pointed out land marks below. I carried out several basic manoeuvers during flight, and actually flew the aircraft for about one hour.A rewarding day and good value.Thank you.

Eaglescott Airfield is ideally placed for a stunning experience. In the heart of the Devon countryside, and yet within just a few minutes of takeoff we were approaching the craggy north devon coastline. Wales in the distance, Lundy on the horizon, and the rolling hills all around. Barry instructor had me fling the plane almost the whole time, including lining up on the airstrip to land. Informative, educational and of course a real buzz. Top marks for a fantastic all round experience.

Really incredible experience of going up in a motorised glider at Long Marston Airfield near StratforduponAvon. Lee is a brilliant pilot and made everything look so easy. We managed a bit of gliding and the motor was used to take off and circle around so it was a very full one hour experience. Highly recommend. My 14 year old son had a go and loved it.

It was a very small friendly setup. They seemed to just have two small planes instructors and it was a very personal experience. The instructor took me through the basic workings of the aircraft and then we hit the runway. Soon after take off I was given control of the plane, the instructor made me feel very comfortable and I soon relaxed into it. Visibility was excellent and I flew out over the Isle of Wight, around the Needles and back over the top of Portsmouth Harbour. Amazing views I was surprised by the length of time I was given control of the plane virtually the whole time, apart from takeoff and landing. I dont know what other flying clubs are like, but I would definitely recommend Solent Flights. The location is brilliant with the interesting coastline nearby and the friendly professional service.

We were in the air for one hour,our flight took us over Portsmouth, Lymington,over the needles and south of the Isle of White before turning north across the IoW to head back to the airstrip.
