2 Day RYA Level 1 Sailing Course - Dorset

About the experience
Product ID: 12402
Are you interested in learning how to sail? If so, then you might want to consider the two-day sailing experience in Poole Harbour, Dorset. This experience is perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics of sailing in a simple vessel on calm waters. Poole Harbour is Europe's largest natural harbour and one of the country's most beautiful sailing areas. During your two-day experience, you will learn how to sail a small boat in an ideal environment for beginners, without having to worry about high seas or tides. All instructors at Rockley Point in Poole are fully qualified by the Royal Yachting Association. Led by chief sailing instructor Liz McMaster, the team is passionate about teaching and believes that you are never too old to learn the skills needed to sail. You will learn in Wayfarers, which are popular training sail dinghies with a Marconi rig, main sail, jib, and symmetrical spinnaker. By the end of the two-day experience, you will hopefully have gained your RYA Level 1 sailing qualification. You will have learned all about rigging, tacking, gybing, sailing upwind and downwind, points of sailing, and man overboard recovery in the enjoyable 4.82m long sailboats. Don't worry if these sailing terms mean nothing to you right now—you will learn all about them during your two days on the water!
