About the experience

Product ID: 15146

Imagine taking to the Yorkshire skies in a vintage De Havilland Tiger Moth from Breighton Airfield near Selby. It's an experience like no other - the wind in your face, the roar of the engine, and the charm of open cockpit flying. The Tiger Moth is an iconic plane and flying in it is an absolute delight. Despite the noise and windswept feeling, it's an experience that gives you a true sense of aviation heritage. This particular Tiger Moth, with serial number N9372, once served as an RAF trainer in Wiltshire, Warwickshire, and Cambridgeshire, training new pilots during the war years. Now based in Yorkshire under the civil registration G-ANHK, it preserves the RAF trainer colors and is ready to take you on a 15-minute flight above the beautiful landscapes of Selby and beyond. Breighton Airfield, with its history as an RAF bomber base and cold war missile site, has now transformed into a haven for classic and vintage aircraft. It's the perfect place to experience flying in a Tiger Moth and immerse yourself in aviation history.

A great day at Breighton with a wonderful flight in the Tiger Moth.Everyone involved treated me really well, ensuring that I was kitted out with a suitable flying overall and helmet.I was able to have a good conversation with the pilot as we shared memories of time in the RAF. It was altogether a fantastic experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I did the 60 minute experience which included flying over York and Castle Howard. This Tiger Moth is a beautiful aircraft to fly in. Ive done hundreds of hours in many different aircraft and this tops them all. I cant recommend this experience enough.

It took a while for various reasons but on a crisp clear day on November 17th I finally took off from Breighton Airfield for an enchanting if somewhat chilly, flight of a lifetime. We flew west, eventually flying around the Emley Moor Mast experiencing a bumpy ride as we did so We flew past my home village of Flockton and then headed east overflying at fairly low level Finningley with its resident Vulcan and Canberra aircraft before landing very gently back on the ground.Very many thanks for a wonderful unforgettable experience to all there at Breighton, but especially to Alison for her patience and understanding during my earlier unavailability.
