About the experience
Calling all horse lovers! Spend an idyllic day out in the Yorkshire countryside with a Full Day Farm and Horse Experience near Skipwith where you look after the horses from start to finish. Nothing is left out of the day, as you take care of the grooming, field maintenance, washing down your horse and everything in between. You'll soon realise just how much work goes on behind the scenes to make these horses look so picturesque in the fields, but if you've always wanted the chance to get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures in a picturesque farm location, this will be right up your street. As well as spending the day with the horses, you'll also get the chance to put a horse through their paces in a cart or carriage driving session, teaching you the most common form of transport from several centuries ago as you get a knack for steering across the countryside. Farm and Horse Activities:
- Calling horses in from the field
- Field maintenance - making sure the field is clean and safe for the horses and checking the boundary fencing
- Preparing the table and field with horse feed and water
- Horse grooming and general care
- Learn about the horse harness to understand how it fits and what each part does.
- Washing down your horse after your cart/carriage driving session
- Returning your horse to the field or stable

Information
- No minimum age
- Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult on site
- You must be in good health and have no mobility issues to take part in this experience
- Spectators are welcome at a charge of £30 payable directly, which includes refreshments and a ploughman's lunch or picnic in the tea room
- If you have any allergies, please make these known at the time of booking.
