About the Tank Driving Experience - Renfrewshire
Get an experience that is sure to be exciting for military enthusiasts in Scotland on this Tank Driving Experience, hosted at Scart Farm, near the Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire. And it's a truly authentic experience that's been curated here - upon arrival, you'll enter basecamp. And as a new recruit you'll have a full tank briefing, with an instructor showing you around the controls of the FV432 APC armoured tank, formerly used by the British Army, and weighing a massive 18 tonnes. And then, it's time to climb into the driving seat and show your capability of manoeuvring this heavyweight machine around a specially prepared course traversing through a number of challenging wet and wild terrains surrounded by majestic Scottish countryside, with driving time of up to 20 minutes, whilst the rest of your time in the tank will be spent riding in the crew compartment, which gives a real sense of how it transported soldiers out on the battlefield. Overall, this experience promises to offer an insight of driving a bonafide tank!
- Drive an FV432 full-tracked tank
- Ex-British Army armoured personnel carrier
- Drive for up to 20 minutes
- Then ride in the crew compartment
- Drive an ex-British Army APC 432 tank
- Field briefing before getting dressed in camouflage for your mission
- Tuition from an experienced instructor
- Drive the tank for one circuit of the course through water (depending on weather and time of the year) and over steep inclines
- Allow approximately one hour for this experience with up to 20 minutes drive time
- Please note drive time is dependent on the speed you drive
- The circuit can be completed quicker however this is not recommended
- You will form part of a small group for this experience
- When you are not driving you will ride in the crew compartment of the tank as a passenger

- Spectators are welcome to observe from the viewing gallery
- Tank rides can are available for £10 per person, payable on the day

- Experiences operate in most weather conditions (snow may affect the event)
- Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn
- Participants must bring a printed copy of their voucher on the day. Mobile phone signal is weak in the area so digital copies are not suitable
