You and the history buff in your life will surely want to book onto this incredible sightseeing tour of Leeds Castle in Kent - but not just any old way, as you’ll be taking to a two wheeled transporter on this Segway Adventure Tour for Two! This majestic castle, situated on two islands in the middle of the River Len near Maidstone, has had a castle based here in one form or another since the 9th century as a wooden structure, then rebuilt as a stone structure in the 12th century, and it is often cited as being the crown jewel of the oft dubbed “Garden of England”. And from the Segway base located just behind the main ticket office and shop, you’ll both get to embark on a guided tour of the castle grounds that’s been run for over 15 years, traversing over 500 acres of gorgeous open green parkland on a route that’s not usually open to the public. Your tour guide will help you get to grips with controlling and operating the Segway - which you’ll find is incredibly easy to do once you get the hang of it. And from there, you’ll get to explore the Castle moat, Maiden’s Tower, the Aviary, Lady Baillie’s Garden. - After you feel comfortable with the feel and control technique of the Segway you will begin your tour around the grounds as you see sights of the Castle not usually seen by those travelling on foot
- The experience will last for just over an hour
- No castle entry ticket is necessary to take part in the adventure

- During Autumn and Winter experiences operate less frequently

- There is a minimum age of 13 years to take part in this experience
- Minimum weight 7 stone
- Under 18's must be accompanied by a participating adult
- There is a maximum weight limit of 17.5 stone
- This experience is not suitable for those who are pregnant
- Comfortable, outdoor clothing is recommended as well as sensible, flat soled footwear
- There is a maximum group size of 8 participants
- Spectators are welcome to watch participants during the training experience however will not be able to view the experience once participants begin the castle grounds tour
- Free facilities onsite include parking, access to the castle gift shop, a coffee kiosk (open in spring and summer and weekends only in autumn and winter)
- Other facilities that can access by purchasing a entry ticket to the grounds include the onsite restaurant and kids play area
- Entry is £24.50 for adults and £16.50 for children

Great funShort training but easy to learn how to operate. The only negative thing is there are no directions at Leeds Castle to the Segway so had to park at Go Ape and ask.

I had this experience as part of my 40th birthday celebrations and it was fab. The team are super friendly and very patient and the segway was great fun.We had our experience at Leeds castle and went around the grounds hearing a few little snippets of history along the way.I would definitely recommend and I will be returning again some day soon

We really enjoyed our Segway tour. The two staff had a great balance between being fun and friendly yet always professional. The tour left on time there was no hanging around. I was given a Segway adventure at Leeds Castle as a leaving present from the children at the school from which I have recently left and what great gift that was Staff, training and Segways were all top class and I had a fantastic time.Trainers were polite, friendly and professional ensuring a safe experience whilst still allowing those everyone to have fun.Beautiful views of castle and grounds I will recommend this to friends and would definitely go again.

This was a good introductory experience to Segway. We four were among a group of eight people, the maximum they allow at any one time. The instructors and two guides were very friendly and pleasant. As a group we were asked whether we would like the historical talk on the way and we said yes. However in hindsight we should have said no as this took up time when we could have had more time on the Seaways and we couldnt always hear what was being said. Although we enjoyed the ride, we were left feeling we could have had longer.

A bit hesitant at first but found it was very easy to pick up and then we were away. It was a great experience and the setting at Leeds Castle was amazing. We did the Adventure Tour which is for 1 hour and were glad we did Great. Love to do it again soon.

Had a fantastic segway tour round Leeds Castle. My only complaint was that there were 14 people in our group, so there seemed a lot of hanging around. This was actually 2 groups together, the 12 hour tour and the hour tour. This meant 14 of us were learning how to use the segways at the same time, and during the first 12 hour of the tour, all 14 of us were together at one point we could race individually as fast as we could on a flat bit one by one, but if you were the first one to go, you had to hang round until the other 13 people came in. It would be better to have done the 2 tours separately. However, we got our full hour on the segway, so were not cheated out of time, and this did not really detract from the brilliant experience, and the great guides. Took one star off though....

Fantastic experience. Managed the hills Interesting guide talking about the Castle . Only complaint is the difficulty negotiating the Web site to book tickets. Annoying having to put codes etc for each ticket when redeeming, if tickets booked individually. When you eventually get to go on the Sega it is brilliant.

Unfortunately, we have not had our Segway experience just yet due to the fantastic British weather The company contacted me the day before stating that they had conflicting weather reports one of which forecasting bad weather and we had the choice of either postponing the event then or waiting to see what would happen with the possibility of the company being forced to postpone the activity should the weather prove to be too bad. As we were going to be travelling some distance, I decided to postpone our longawaited day to a time when, hopefully the weather will be more favourable. I had to leave a message as I didnt pick up their message until late the day before. They returned my call early the next morning a Sunday, and I have since rescheduled the adventure for early September. The company were really helpful and easy to work with. Hopefully Ill be able to come back on here after the 6th September to let you all know how good our experience is, but if its organised as well as my dealings with them so far, Im expecting great things Thank you for making this unavoidable cancellation so easy. Ps, the weather was particularly cold and horrible on the 26th July, so we did the right thing cancelling

My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed this new experience in the beautiful setting of Leeds Castle. Our tutorial was very good and the instructors were professional and patient with everyone. They made our adventure a fun and safe one, with their short knowledge of the history of the castle and their enthusiasm for the activity itself. We would have liked to be nearer the castle and to have been given a certificate to say we had participated for a keepsake and reminder of the day, but apart from that a wonderful experience and one we would love to try again.Thank you

It was terrific fun. The staff were excellent and very patient with those in the group who were on the nervous side. It would be a good idea to perhaps create another level for those who have used a Segway before. Then you could spend a complete hour riding in the grounds without the history lesson on the castle.

This was the second time my wife and I have had the Segway adventure at Leeds Castle. We wouldnt have repeated it if we hadnt had a great time. The organisers are very good with safety and the history of the castle. Segways are very easy to master as it does all the work for you, great fun

As a cyclist, thought it would be a doddle Wrong It takes a special technique which you do have to be shown by two very thorough and professional young men, so dont be complacent. Taken out of training mode off we went with great concentration and also admiring the landscape of Leeds Castle. To sum up, great fun, now having done a round would love to go again but next time with more selfassurance. Would have a loved the chance of another round like a second time around but adhering to the trainers advice. Absolutely a must to do.

Good safe training session laced with advice, observations and wit by patient, helpful and informative staff. Then off round the grounds on the Segway. Great views and some history of the castle. Up and down slopes, over cambers and bouncing over bumpy trails all with a strong staysafe culture and a huge grin at the end. Highly Recommended.
