If you're seeking adventure, try Derwent River rafting! This beautiful area is perfect for exploring the River Derwent, making it one of the top activities in Matlock. The scenery is stunning, the staff is fantastic, and you're sure to have fun. Your rafting journey begins at the Square and Compass, a charming inn across from the river. After your adventure, you'll be transported back from Matlock Bath to this meeting point, ideal for celebrating with a drink or meal. The experience covers a 4.5-mile stretch from Darley Dale to Matlock Bath. Starting with a gentle paddle to help you get accustomed to the water, you'll have opportunities to take in lovely riverside views—and perhaps even enjoy some wild swimming! As you progress, be prepared for moderate rapids (grade 2) with names like Tower Fall and Flip Bridge. Teamwork will be crucial as you navigate these challenges. Finally, you'll paddle into Matlock Bath, where you'll see the impressive High Tor cliff rising 120 meters above the river.

- Rafting on the Derwent runs on selected weekdays and weekends throughout April to October

- Meet at the Derwent Works in Ambergare, Derbyshire
- You will be transported to the launch point

- Please note this experience is subject to a minimum of 4 participants attending on the day, in the unlikely event of this not being achieved your date may be re-scheduled.
