Since he was brought to life by Michael Bond in the book “A Bear Called Paddington” in October 1958, Paddington Bear™ has remained a huge part of British culture for all ages and all generations. And regardless of whether your entry point to the marmalade loving bear with good manners from Darkest Peru was via the books, the stop motion animated TV series in the 1970s, or the blockbuster films in the 2010s, we think this official Paddington Bear™ walking tour of London is sure to appeal. Starting - naturally - at Paddington Railway Station, where Mr and Mrs Brown first met him on the station concourse, with his battered old suitcase and a luggage tag reading “Please look after this bear, thank you”, and where there’s also a commemorative bronze statue, based on Peggy Fortnum’s illustration from the original book, the tour will also you take to some other notable locations from Paddington’s adventures both in the books and on the small and big screen, including the world famous Portobello Market in Notting Hill, where he likes to drive a hard bargain, the facade of the Browns’ family home at No. 32 Windsor Gardens, and a chance to stop at the antiques shop of his friend, Mr Gruber, with whom he always has daily elevenses. Information
- Adult tickets are over 16's
- All people under 18 (i.e. 17 years old and younger) must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 years or over)
- Saturdays departing at 10:30am (Jan - Dec)
- Tuesday departing at 10:30am (School Holidays and Jul-Aug)
- Tours depart from Paddington Railway Station and finish at Portobello Road (a short walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station)
- Tour finish at Portobello Road
Minimum Age: 3 years
- As part of the walking tour, there will be a short bus journey on public transport, so each member of your party will need either an Oyster Card or a Travelcard valid to travel on the day of the tour in Zones 1-2, under 11's travel for free
- Owing to the nature of the locations visited, this tour is not accessible for wheelchair users
