About the experience
Take off on a Mountain Flying Experience, flying over North Wales, home to scenic views and endless beauty, there’s a reason Wales get voted one of the most beautiful countries. Your experience will take place in a Grob 109B motor glider, instructed by a highly experienced BGA flying instructor. A safety brief will be taken before heading out for your journey. The glider will take off from Denbigh, heading west towards the main part of Snowdonia, where if the weather allows, you will be able to soar over the summit of Mount Snowden. You will then head to Cadair Idris and have views of Barmouth and Porthmadog before returning to base past Lake Bala. There will be so many photo opportunities to snap shots of the breathtaking views. A fantastic way to get a birds eye view of North Wales.

A wonderful experience on a perfect day with a clear blue sky. A really friendly and informative greeting followed by an amazing flight. My wife, who was watching the take off and landing, was made very comfortable while I was in the air and offered a drink. She also heard the radio communications.

This was a birthday present which had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic several times. C-19 restrictions notwithstanding, this was excellent fun, due mainly to the pilot and the weather - this was the "flying lesson" experience - you'll need both hands free! Some of the facilities on the ground were mid-construction (they're building a flight simulator) but this didn't detract too much as we were the only ones there on the day. Be prepared to sign away your life of course, but one of the benefits in doing so is that you become a member of the flying club for 30 days, and so if you're in the area you can go up again at considerably less cost than the experience day. If you've got a go-pro or similar and a chest or head mount this is an excellent opportunity for some aerial photos but unfortunately the review system was unable to upload a photo when I wrote this review :(

This was without doubt one of the best experiences I have ever had. To be able to fly at low level over the mountains I have climbed so many times was unforgettable. My pilot was excellent and gave me the controls for part of the fight. I never thought I would be able to add "fly a plane" to the list of things I have done. I would thoroughly recommend this experience.
