Experience the thrill of micro lighting in Staffordshire at this welcoming and expertly-run club! Your trial microlighting lesson will be led by Mick, Dave, or Neil - seasoned and passionate instructors with impressive backgrounds. Mick, with decades of experience in microlight flying, brings a wealth of knowledge as an aircraft inspector and CAA-appointed examiner. Neil, an instructor since 2014, embraces challenges, like soaring over the breathtaking snow-capped peaks of the French Alps. Dave, an instructor since 2012, has a remarkable flying history, including 10 months of conducting flights over the Himalayas in Nepal. His expertise in assessing and training Nepalese pilots in mountainous conditions is unparalleled. At this airfield near Lichfield and Tamworth, the owner-operated setup ensures minimal air traffic, allowing you to fully savour the microlighting experience. You'll have the opportunity to fly a range of fixed and flex-winged microlights, including the Pegasus Quantum, Quasar, and Skyranger Swift - all easy-to-handle, obedient aircraft flying at around 60mph. - Introduction to the aircraft and the controls
- Your instructor will handle take off, then demonstrate how the microlight handles
- You will have the chance to take control and fly the aircraft yourself
- The school have a range of microlights including open and closed cockpit types
- All safety equipment is provided including flying suit, helmets and headsets
- You will be presented with a certificate after your flight
- The airfield has a small clubhouse and briefing area with excellent views across the grass runways
