In Pontefract, you'll encounter a fascinating array of birds, from captive-bred species to rescued raptors nursed back to health. Kira's expertise in raptor rehabilitation, gained in South Africa, has allowed her to create a haven for these magnificent creatures in her native West Yorkshire.   • A bird of prey experience set in beautiful Yorkshire countryside around Pontefract
  • All experiences begin with a safety briefing with your falconer
  • Sessions are run on an exclusive basis

Half Day Falconry

  • Spend the morning meeting the team and the falconer at the farm
  • During the session you will fly, handle and feed a range of birds including owls and hawks
  • Lunch will be provided on the day
  • Allow three hours for this experience

Information

  • Spectators are welcome for a small additional charge payable on the day
  • £5 per person for the handling and owl encounters, £10 per person for the hawk walk and the half day falconry

Brilliant experience. Kira was very knowledgable and friendly. Her birds were beautiful characters. It was a hot day for the birds so they were unwilling to fly far but they did fly to us and happily sat on our arms while we chatted and fed them. We'll definitely do this again.

The bird of prey experience was ok. The problem wasnt kira the handeling lady. It was the weather. The birds were too hot. We only had an hour and no flying because of the heat. A bit dissapointing really. But i dont know how it cud have been sorted because noone cant change the weather.
