Military vehicle fans in Scotland will be in for a truly unique extended driving experience, with the opportunity to drive a 6 ton Pinzgauer at Scart Farm, based over by the Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire, easily accessible from Glasgow city centre! Named after the Austrian cattle of the same name, their leading manufacturer, Steyr-Daimler-Puch, built the first model in 1971, and continued production until 2007. As you might expect, it's a strong, stocky vehicle, built to be driven across all terrains but with surprising speed and performance. This particular Pinzgauer was once used by the British Army - a later Vector 718 armoured model, to be exact - and served in Afghanistan. Scart Farm is the ideal location to take control of this vehicle as it has plenty of challenging hilly and muddy terrains as well as glorious Scottish countryside surrounding it, and it's kitted out in full camouflage to make it as close to driving it in its best known use as possible. An instructor will accompany you in the cab on your drive, and as this is an extended driving experience, you'll get a total of 30 minutes' driving time in the Pinzgauer!
