Lose yourself in the history of Cambridge with a Vintage Flying Experience in the 1930s de Havilland Dragon Rapide. Once a former staple of the British skies and used as a short haul airliner, nowadays it's down to the special care and consideration of aviation enthusiasts to keep these planes up and running. Luckily, the team at Duxford have made this possible as they operate two fully restored planes - a rarity as there are very few left used to take passengers into the sky in the UK. So, now's your chance to experience a rare slice of history and enjoy some incredible sights over King's College chapel, Trinity and St John's in glorious Cambridge! As you work your way along the River Cam you may even be able to spot the iconic 12th century Ely Cathedral in the distance as you explore yet more of Britain's fascinating history. Is there a better way to spend a few hours than exploring so much of this country's past all in one? Not only will you have the rare chance to ride in such a historic plane, but see some of Cambridge's iconic sights all from the comfort and elevation of the skies. What's more, you will even have a visit to Duxford included in his experience, giving you even more of a chance to uncover the past.

Information
- This activity is suitable for all ages
- Passengers will need to be able to climb a couple of steps to get into the vintage aircraft
- Flat shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended
- Spectators are welcome to come and watch take off and landing however it is necessary to enter IWM Duxford to watch the flight
- Entry to IWM Duxford is compulsory for participants and accompanying guests. Guests will enjoy half price entry to the site, children under 5 go free
- There is a restaurant and Café on site providing food and refreshments

- Flights take place on selected Wednesdays and weekends from mid-March through to mid-November
- All flights departs from and return to Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire, adjacent to junction 10 of the M11
