Get ready for an unforgettable blacksmith experience day in Berkshire with the Anvil Forge team! Join a small group for an entire day of hands-on workshops, where you'll learn the art of working with metal. Located near the village of Farley Hill, between Basingstoke and Wokingham, this welcoming forge is the perfect place to unleash your creativity. Under the guidance of John, the principal blacksmith, and his skilled team, you'll delve into the world of blacksmithing in a safe and supportive environment. All the necessary safety gear will be provided, and you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing. Be prepared for a hot, dusty, and physical environment – it's all part of the authentic blacksmithing experience in Berkshire. Your first task will be to craft a fire poker from plain mild steel. You'll forge a taper to create a pointed end, and then let your imagination run wild as you design the handle end. The end result? A stylish and functional fire poker crafted by your own hands. But that's not all – you'll also have the opportunity to work on your own metalwork project, whether it's a garden sculpture or a magazine rack. The experienced tutors will help you bring your vision to life. At the end of the day, everything you create is yours to keep!

- Tea and coffee are provided throughout the day
- Class sizes are generally 4-6 with a ratio of 2-3 participants per tutor

- Minimum age 12
- Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult
- A good, general level of fitness is required
- Classes generally run on Thursdays and Fridays. Alternative days can be arranged for small groups
- Sessions start at 09:30 and finish between 16:00 and 16:30
- Dates are subject to availability

- Sturdy shoes/boots and old clothes should be worn
