About the experience
Go back to the basics of hands on craftmanship with Blacksmithing, an artform which has been going on for centuries! With this 5 Hour Course at a working forge in Grassington in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, you will learn all about the fine art of what it takes to be a Blacksmith as you get tuition from an expert and forge your own bespoke piece to take home with you. Alongside a friend or loved one, you can both share this unique experience together as you escape from the convenience of the modern world and realise how much physical effort goes into making objects such as hanging baskets, door knockers or boot scrapers. Prepare to work up a sweat as you spend half a day in this heated forge banging your metal work to perfection and getting to grips with all the tools. This Blacksmithing course is not only in an idyllic Yorkshire location, which is a perfect excuse to extend your visit into a couple of days to explore this fantastic area, but an ideal way to learn a new skill and spend quality time with a loved one. It's not everyday you can learn the historic art of Blacksmithing, so why not give it a go?

Five Hour Session
- Forge more complicated pieces such as a door knocker, hanging basket brackets, boot jack, boot scraper, a steel rose or an item of your own design
- You will form part of a small group of up to 4 participants

- Suitable for beginners and those with some blacksmithing experience alike
- A good, general level of fitness is required

- Weekdays and weekends throughout the year
- Dates are subject to availability
- Sessions start at 10:00
- Sturdy footwear such as safety boots should be worn
- Non-flammable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty is recommended
